Don’t Make Excuses, Find Exceptions

Don’t make excuses, find exceptions. Look beyond the typical and search for something more inside yourself to do what you want to do. For inside of us are dreams, ideas, and a fiery potential that is waiting to be lit on fire. If you don’t act on what is in you, it will stay stagnant, like a stale bread that when it is never used, begins to mold. We all have things we want to do, and the level of intensity at which those to do list items appear varies widely, because we are all human. It could be as simple as trying a new hobby this weekend, or as time intensive as starting a business. The point of the matter is not what it is that you are doing, but whether or not you are doing it.

Each action we want to take, we intuitively look for an opportunity to either achieve it or leave it. We find a way to make it happen, or we look for the exception. I’m not going to try and get a raise because my coworker probably deserves one more, or I have too much on my plate to try a new hobby this week. I’m not saying that everything you want to do in life you must immediately follow through on, but I am saying on the things you really do want to do, you can. It’s a choice. You have the option to take a step in that direction today, or you can begin searching for an excuse.

If there’s something in your life that give your eyes a glimmer, makes your smile a little bigger, and your life a lot grander, then you should find a way to do it. You’ll be happier in the end. Or maybe it’s not about joy, but what you desire to achieve. It’s about a dream, an obstacle, or something you just feel you need to do before you die. Then do it. Find the reason why, and run after it like a cheetah after a gazelle. Don’t make excuses, find exceptions.
